COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

The intention of House of Grit and Grace is to create a movement of women across the globe that support, honor and respect themselves and each other. Please adhere to these guidelines to ensure we can create one, if not the, most epic movement that changes the landscape for women everywhere.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Be supportive. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment in this community. Treat others with kindness, empathy and respect. Offer encouragement and avoid putting others down. It's okay to constructively point out blind areas or provide feedback, but do so in a caring and supportive way. Build each other up and celebrate one another's successes and contributions. A little kindness and positivity can go a long way in making this a welcoming space for all.

  • No spam or trolling. Spam, trolling, and intentionally disruptive behavior are not permitted in this community. Do not post the same content repeatedly across multiple threads or channels. Avoid posting inflammatory remarks designed solely to bait, provoke or upset others. Trolling, bullying, harassment, and hate speech toward other members will not be tolerated.

This space is for constructive discussion and fostering meaningful connections around our shared interests and values. Low-effort posts that do not contribute substantially may be removed. Behavior intended to derail conversations or create a hostile environment runs counter to our aim of keeping this an open and welcoming community for all. If you feel as though you are being bullied, please inform us by sending an email with screenshots/examples to [email protected].

  • Sharing. We encourage members to share their experiences, thoughts and perspectives in this community. However, it's important to do so in a mindful way that doesn't cross boundaries.

When sharing personal stories or viewpoints, be thoughtful about the details and tone you use. Avoid graphically describing traumatic experiences or posting potentially disturbing content without proper warnings. While we aim to create an open environment, some topics like violence or sexual abuse could be very triggering for others.

Similarly, be considerate about oversharing intensely emotional, dramatic or negative rants. This space isn't meant for extreme venting or dumping emotional baggage in an unhealthy way. If you're struggling with something heavy, share lightly and express your need for support - but avoid emotionally overloading others.

Essentially, share with heart but also with discretion for the sensitivities of this community. A good guideline is to avoid anything too explicit, disturbing or emotionally overwhelming without a specific content warning. Let's foster an environment of mutual care and consideration.

  • Trigger Warnings We ask that all posts containing content or alluding to activating topics have a “TW” clearly added to the top of each post, along with the topic that it pertains to → example:. TW Sexual Abuse and Miscarriage. This ensures a safe community space for all members.

    These activating topics include:
  • Graphic or violent content - physical or sexual assault, domestic violence, self-harm, suicide, or death.
  • Sexual content - explicit descriptions or depictions of sexual acts, incest, sexual abuse, or sexual violence.
  • Traumatic experiences - including topics related to war, genocide, racism, and discrimination, which may trigger individuals who have experienced trauma related to these topics.
  • Abuse or harassment - emotional, physical, or sexual abuse or harassment.
  • Sensitive and mental health content - mental health disorders, addiction, eating disorders, or miscarriage

If your post contains one of these topics - you must add a trigger warning or your post will be removed with a one-time warning and opportunity repost within the guidelines.

  • A note on photos. Photo Sharing Guidelines

We welcome members to share photos that are relevant, meaningful and appropriate for this community space. However, please follow these guidelines:

  • Legal Disclaimer

While this is a supportive community focused on personal growth, healthy boundaries, and empowerment, it's important to note some legal limitations.

There is no professional counseling, medical, legal, or financial advice provided within this community space. The discussions here are for general informational purposes only.

If you are dealing with mental health issues, we urge you to seek professional counseling or therapy services. This community cannot substitute for proper clinical treatment.

For any medical concerns or questions, please consult a licensed medical professional. We do not recommend or provide any specific medical advice.

Similarly, no information shared here should be construed as official legal or financial counsel. For those matters, we encourage you to engage qualified legal and financial experts respectively.

The opinions and perspectives shared in this community, while intended to be helpful, do not constitute professional expert advice of any kind. This space facilitates supportive discussion, but cannot replace professional services.

If you are dealing with any issues that require professional counsel in areas like mental health, medicine, law, or finance, we urge you to obtain assistance from properly accredited and licensed experts. This community is not an appropriate substitute in those domains.

  • A note on Self-promotion. To keep this community focused on our shared values and interests rather than individualized marketing, we do not permit self-promotion of businesses, products, services or personal brands.

Any posts or comments that constitute advertising, soliciting customers/clients, or driving traffic to external commercial interests will be removed. This includes sharing affiliate links, posting sales pitches, or leveraging conversations to promote your own for-profit venture.

There are two exceptions to this no self-promotion rule:

  • Member Directory: All members will be added to our Member Directory which can be accessed by all other members. However, this directory is for informational purposes, not advertising.
  • Monthly Member Highlights: Each month, we'll spotlight a few members and allow them to share more about their background, work, interests etc. in the community. This is an earned opportunity reserved for active, participating members - not for self-promotion.

Beyond those two use-cases, any other self-promotional behaviors or tactics will be considered a violation of our community guidelines. Our aim is to maintain an authentic space focused on mutual sharing and growth, free from individualized marketing agendas.

  • Our Core Ethics and Values

This is a women's community grounded in the core values of integrity, respect, loyalty, and radical responsibility. We nurture an environment of empowerment, growth and ethical conduct.

We welcome women of all races, religions, abilities and backgrounds. Discrimination has no place here - we celebrate our diversity as a strength.

Integrity guides our actions. We uphold honesty, authenticity and reject any deceitful or unethical behavior. We are accountable for our choices.

Respect is paramount. We treat one another with dignity and kindness. Harassment, hate speech or actions that undermine human rights are firmly rejected.

Loyalty means supporting our fellow members' journeys. We are faithful to our shared vision of growth and upliftment for all women.

Radical responsibility is taking full ownership - for ourselves, each other, and our wider impact. We are proactive forces for good in the world.

What We Don't Tolerate:

  • Discrimination or hatred
  • Unethical, illegal or exploitative conduct
  • Misinformation, fraud or intentional deceit
  • Actions that diminish human dignity

We hold ourselves and each other to these high ethical standards. By living these values, we create an unshakeable foundation for the serious work of helping women thrive in all arenas of life. This is a noble sisterhood driven by integrity above all.

Thank you for following the School of Badassery and House of Grit and Grace’s Community Guidelines.
